Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSKUS) differentiates Rheumatoid arthritis from Fibromyalgia
Armughan Ali and Mairum Rehman, two medical students from DOW completed their research project with Dr. Mohammad Saeed and successfully published this case report. Their work shows that many patients who are thought to have Fibromyalgia really have inflammatory arthritis. MSKUS is a tool that can be used to help such patients with diagnosis and lead to successful treatment and recovery.
Armughan Ali and Marium Rehman were new to research but persisted through with the ordeal of medical scientific writing and publishing, for an entire one year after their two months elective. They bore the repeated corrections with patience and finally they have their reward. But really the reward for their hard work and patience was what they themselves alluded to – ‘learning and development’. Congrats!
